Turn Around

Traveled so far yet I sometimes still feel so far away…
From the person that I want of be instead what others want to see each day.

I have stopped running from myself but need to figure out…
How to release myself from fear and face this familiar doubt.

So I turn around for the first time and can’t believe what I see…
I have not been running from demons, I have been running from me.

I have a shadow that extends out farther than I could have ever known…
That has caught every fall and pushes my dreams as I have grown.

There is no anchor outside of my doubt…I had it all so wrong…
I have now discovered the key to no longer dragging myself along.

I have everything I need to find success and make an impactful difference.
I have never felt so close knowing happiness is not to far in the distance.
