So You Thought…

I know who I am and the things I’ve survived…
I have lived in misery for years, yet I still succeeded and thrived.

Found ways to do right by those who swore I meant so much…
They used my promise and care as support like most would a crutch.

Which is okay because that role is something that brings forward my pride…
I no longer live within the promise to obey and hide.

If you no longer feel that I’m a fit within the realm you serve…
Then maybe you should look in the mirror and really observe.

The person that stares back will tell a clear story for all…
As you bang your head repetitively into that all too familiar wall.

Enjoy your lies and your fears… I hope they someday go dark…
I hope that you stop pointing fingers and see your own special spark.

For it is one thing to lose hope and another to lose reason…
It is even worse when you let a lie support the opportunity to commit ruthless treason.

Find the human I once saw as great…
Let there be no question or debate…
I will never live behind your judgement…So lock that gate.
