Elevated Hearts

I cry so hard sometimes wondering if you will ever know…
The emotions behind the surface level that these words will never show.

Its so hard to appropriately put into words the freedom you place…
Inside of this “strong father” fronted by a facade and a stern old face.

My god when I look at you my happiness flows so free…
If only you knew how you silence my demons with the beauty I see.

I hope this poem makes every parent stop with love in their tracks…
So they can hug their child as they place their hands around their innocent backs.

There is a love that runs deeper than most do for sure…
A love that shows that there are ways to find happiness and so much more.

More to life and knowing love to be more than just a thing…
More importance to knowing happiness and what every moment can bring.

Your heart holds me up the same way that I hold you…
There will never be a lack of love and care…I can promise that too.

You have helped keep my head above…
A life where I have only known how to approach my next push or shove.
