Not So Hidden Treasures
So many prayers answered…So many moments of fear…So many days of hiding…So many reasons that to others may seem unclear. None the less, there is a story behind this very place that needs to be told and heard by those of you that are at a point where it seems as if there is no reason in sight to help you push through. Just stop for a second… Stop moving, Stop thinking, Stop forcing life…Just stop and breath as you look out on a world that waits for you to realize that you hold the key that unlocks all of your freedom and releases all of your fear. Your inner light does not ever and will never extinguish as long as you truly believe that it is there. People that give up in life have not lost hope, they have lost direction. They have not lost reason to try, they have misplaced their internal compass which once pushed them along. They have not lost love, they have been misguided into thinking discomfort and hate are numbing solutions.
A safe haven under a tree that swayed in the wind with a prayer for every leaf that existed on it. So many wonderful memories and conversations with my mom about how beautiful life is and how lucky we were. Not a single moment that I would replace for anything in the world. The twisted ways of darkness had their way with me here as well. I sat at this lake so many times contemplating where it all went wrong. Where life took a turn for the worst and where it became more ideal for me to numb myself from my mind then to deal with it the way I always had in the past. How could a human that knew they had a heart unlike others not find solutions to his own problems? How could love exist so heavily in an external way and be absent internally? All of these questions and moments under this tree fell perfectly in time. The blessing of never losing my inner light kept my intrusive thoughts at this lake at bay. Not one time did I ever wonder that I was capable of finding happiness, I had to claw my way out of holes, peel back layers of time, overcome obstacles, and discover that the keys to all of my doubt and internalized hatred were in my hands waiting for me to turn my head in a different direction. Now, I return to this lake with the most precious thing that my life has had to offer with so many waves of emotions and happiness. Overwhelming tears rolled down my face as I pointed out at a place that I once sat in confusion and told her about the beauty of the world that only becomes known when we learn to love ourselves.
Your heart can see right through the things that your mind thinks even when it is in its most corrupt state. Your soul feeds your heart the nutrients and truest forms of care and love for it to service your life with them accordingly. As long as you never loose sight of your heart holding the answers to all of your problems, then you have not lost. Your journey to Hope and Change waits for you to grab your inner light by the hand so you can take that first step.
What will you do today to stop for a moment and take a look inside so that your inner light can show you the true beauty that you are meant to see?
